Osterville UnitedMethodist Church is “Committed to Serve!”
There are a variety of programs and activities for all ages, Bible studies, and service opportunities from which to choose. In the fall, there are adult study opportunities, music groups, prayer ministries, our amazing Holiday Fair, a rummage sale, family Advent suppers, homeless outreach programs, youth groups, a Craft group, Lend-a-Hands, a Christmas Pageant, Women’s programs, and this is just a partial listing! In the winter and spring months, we continue with many of the activities mentioned above and we add a mission trip to South Carolina, weekly Lenten services, an Easter Egg hunt, and, this year, a focus on outreach to the youth of our community. Summer brings VacationBibleSchool with over 65 children in attendance, Blaine’s Run, a run/walk designed to support various missions in our church and community, and you can even play a little softball on the Church’s team! There is rarely a dull day at our church!
Behind all this activity is a fundamental philosophy: It is better to give than to receive! Church is not just about what we “get from it”, but what “we give to it”. And...what we give is limited only by our imaginations! Our hope is that new ideas of how we can make a difference in our community and the world will pop up like popcorn. Our church staff is here, not to decide what should be done and by whom, but to encourage and help our community fulfill its dreams. We encourage every member and friend of community to make a commitment to be involved in one of many ministries and missions. It is a wonderful way to make new friends and to give a little bit more to our world than we take from it.
